Nötö
Nötö was formerly the centre for the outer archipelago. It was the largest inhabited island in the area and quite central in location. It had about 200 inhabitants and even its own school. The distinguished village milieu has endured, as well as stately buildings such as a chapel from the 1750s and a mill. During the summer, the island offers a shop and fuel sales. The Eivor connecting vessel and Fiskö provide regular traffic to the island.
The island’s wooden chapel was inaugurated in 1757. The chapel is consecrated to Abraham. The paintings in the chapel are by artist G. Lukander. In addition to this building, you can visit the commemorative cross of Countess Maria Sofia de la Gardie at Eurholmen in Nötö or the mossy house foundations of Mattsby.
